Tip #438: There is no rule against using nouns as adjectives. If we could not use nouns as adjectives we would not be able to write “paper clip, picture frame, file folder, etc.” However, always listen to the way words sound in a sentence. For example, “The Democrats wrapped the bill tightly in a procedural blanket.” Suppose we wrap the bill tightly “in a blanket of procedure”? Sometimes rewriting can make the sentence sound better to us. |
